Happy New Year from Anderson's Seed & Garden

Happy New Year from Anderson's Seed & Garden

As the 2025 holiday season comes to a close, and the year 2026 looms ahead, it’s easy to think, “what will I do with this new year?” Many people sit down and create new year resolutions–things they’d like to change, do better, or new things to try altogether. The same can be done for gardeners!

Now is a great time to reflect on what went well in your garden. Did you discover a new variety of vegetable that you want to continue growing? Maybe you discovered the secret to keeping away pests and weeds, or maybe you grew your very first harvest! Reflecting on the good can help you to plan for the next season, but as we do that it’s important that reflection doesn’t stop there. We must look into what can be improved, as well.

When thinking about improvements, it’s easy to feel the weight of “failure.” But there is no such thing in gardening–only more opportunities to learn. And there is A LOT to learn. Don’t get discouraged. If you look back and can’t find the reasons why things happened the way they did, or you need some direction on how to move forward for a more productive year, we are here! Come see us in-person, or send us an email and we would be happy to walk through what you did last season, and give suggestions for the future.
